As we study the story of Peter denying that he is a follower of Jesus Christ, we evaluate the value of integrity and become convicted of the ways that our life does not match our words. Are we a follower of Jesus in word only? How are we denying that we are a Jesus follower?
Jesus will teach his disciples that they are going to stand out from this world, because the values of a Christian disciple are inverted compared to the value systems of this world. The result is that the Christian is going to experience trouble in this world, and paradise in God’s Kingdom, while the people of earth will fit in with this world and experience hell in the next life. By the power of God, we too will overcome this world!
As we wrap up our sermon series, we will look at the final manifestation of the Holy Spirit in Discernment to understand what it means and why we need it. Then we will look at the doctrine of the Trinity to try to understand it as best as we humanly can.
We will unpack the spiritual gift of Ministry/Service. We will look at the value of serving in the average Christians life and the spiritual gift of service that empowers some Christians for exceptional service.
This is an introduction message to spiritual gifts. We will talk about the difference between the spiritual gifts listed in Romans 12, the manifestations of the Spirit when using gifts as listed in 1st Corinthians, and the spiritual offices listed in Ephesians. We will discuss why God gives us such gifts and we will prepare ourselves to begin to look at each gift individually as we progress through this mini series.
You belong to a spiritual family. The modern church is a fundamental part of Gods plan to grow us closer to him. We can not live in right relationship with God with out being in a relationship with Gods family.
