What is church planting?
The phrase “church planting” means starting new churches. Our church is a “church plant”, which means we are a new church. We believe that churches should plant churches, which means that a healthy church should always be pregnant with a new church plant.
Churches are planted many ways, but we believe that a healthy model includes a mother church supporting and coaching its daughter churches. When a church can raise up leaders and send them out to plant a new church, the mother church can also send the new church pastor with some members who all know each other, as well as guidance and other resources to ensure success as much as possible.
We realize that no one church could ever completely impact a city, so we believe that an ingredient in real revival will be church multiplication.
Furthermore, when new churches are planted, there is going to be more variety in worship styles and secondary theological ideals. This means that there will be an attractive church for every personality types.
Not to mention that the new church is better able to challenge the status quo and start something that may be fresh and better able to serve the needs of its community then a church that has grown stagnant.
We are a new church plant, we have already launched a new church plant in Pakistan, and we are always looking for church planters to take up a residency with us.
How we can help Church Planting
We offer a fantastic church planting residency. Through our training and the support of our ministry partners, we can help you with the following:
- Identify your calling, including the “where”, “when”, and “how”
- Help you get financial support
- Train you so that you would be in the minority of church planters who’s church becomes sustainable.
- Coach you before, during, and after the start up so that you can launch with all the experience guiding you that you do not have yourself personally.
- Help you to identify other ministry partners
- Be your Sending Church, meaning you would be connected with us as an affiliate as long as it is helpful to establish sustainability.
You can take advantage of any one or all of these opportunities as the Lord would lead us.
Or residency program is different then most. For many churches, a church planting resident is more like an intern, which feels like an unpaid staff member who must work on teams and serve as a grunt.
While we do believe in servant leadership, our church planting residency offers you something different.
We believe that your residency with us should be restful as you prepare to launch into something that certainly will not be. You will be welcomed to sit in on leadership meetings, participate in cohorts, get experience in ministry areas of your interest, and serve wherever you see fit. If you need a season of rest, that will be fine too.
