For those who desire to do their Community Service with our church, please read this entire page to understand our terms.
If you show up for any Community Service work, we will assume you have accepted the terms below, and understand them well.
We have service opportunities for any mobility level, age, or criminal background. We can accommodate most any schedule, and we are ALWAYS looking for help!
Sunday Mornings
Doing Community Service on Sunday mornings is by far the easiest way for one to get their hours in.
We need all the help we can get in our small church because of how small our volunteer team is. We ALWAYS need help setting up before, and cleaning up after our church services.
If you come in on Sundays, you would help before Sunday School, clean up after the Church Service, and we will give you free hours for the time in between IF YOU SIT THOUGH THE CLASS AND SERVICE.
Most people prefer this because it allows you to get 4 hours per Sunday, of which you work for about 1 hour or less.
To qualify:
- The usual start and stop times will be from 9:00 Am – 1:00 Pm. During this time, you will mostly just be sitting around. You will be given credit for all the time you are present if you abide by these terms. If you do not abide by these terms, you will not be given credit for any of the time you were with us during the particular day of your term’s violation.
- The stop time of 1:00 PM is an estimate. Because most of the time you will be with us will be spent sitting around, it is important to us that we have you helping us with the work that takes place after church service until it is ALL completed. You will not be given credit for any hours if you leave before we tell you all the work is completed.
- You must be with us for the entire block of time, even if the block of time is more then the number of hours you owe for that day. Example: if you have 10 hours to do, you get 4 hours per week, then on the 3rd visit, you will have 2 hours left. We still expect you to be with us for the full 9:00 Am – 1:00 Pm (estimated) time slot, even though that is 4 hours when you only owe 2. You must show up at 9:00 AM on time. If you are late, you may be turned away for the day. We believe this if fair because most of the time you spend with us will just be with you sitting around.
- You must bring your form with you to be signed at each visit. We will not fill in for a previous visit, or for any future time that has yet to be done. If you show up without your form, your time spent will not qualify for service hours.
- You must comply with all directives given. You must sit in with Sunday School and the Church Service. If you are a distraction, you get up from your seat excessively, or you need to be given the same directives repeatedly, you will not be given credit for the time spent in that day.
Weekdays
We offer various types of service opportunities on weekdays. This work is usually done at our office, which is not at the church location. The church office is near Tower & Hampden in Aurora.
These service opportunities are by appointment only.
To qualify:
- You must schedule the time with Pastor CJ directly. You can contact him using the information at this page.
- You must always bring your paperwork to be filled out at each visit. We will not back date for you if you forget to bring your paperwork.
- You must be on time for your appointment. Being late may possibly require you to reschedule.
- You will be expected to work during the entire duration of your appointment. If you are distracted by your phone, you will not be given credit for any of the time you served during the appointment.
If you have done much of your hours on Sunday mornings, and are only interested in making up the exact amount of time you have left to serve, without going over due to the Sunday Morning Community Service Terms above, a Weekday Service opportunity might be a great opportunity for you.
Example: If you have 10 hours, and got 4 hours on 2 Sundays, making a total of 8 hours served, and 2 hours left, and you came back the next Sunday, you would need to be present for 4 hours to get credit for your last 2, as described above.
Or you could serve your remaining 2 hours on a Weekday by appointment as you see fit.
Outreach Events
We have a number of events every month that you can join us for. These events are a great way for you to have fun while getting in some extra hours. We are ALWAYS looking for more help at these events.
Community Dinner
Every third Wednesday of the month at the church. Arrive at 5:00 PM to help set up and plan to leave between 8:00 – 9:00 PM, depending on how things go.
Sunday Outreach
Every third Sunday of the month, we do an Outreach project after church. You could stick around after the church services on the third Sunday to get extra hours for that day.

To Qualify:
- You will be expected to work during the entire duration of your appointment. If you are distracted by your phone, you will not be given credit for any of the time you served during the appointment.
- You must always bring your paperwork to be filled out at each visit. We will not back date for you if you forget to bring your paperwork.
