Summary

Christ valued 3 relationships

His Relationship with God

John 15:4 – Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

His relationship with God’s family, the Disciples.

Galatians 6:10 – Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

His relationship with the lost community

Matthew 5:16 – In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Relationships develop by spending time

How we spend our time matters. We can sin and do damage to our relationship with God. But by investing our time in the following ways, we will grow in our love for Christ, and grow in how we look like Christ.

Mark 1:35 – Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Acts 2:46 – Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
Luke 4:16 – He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom.
John 4:34 – “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
