We know of many stories of people having their life transformed in the power of God in such a way that they enter into prison broken, and leave a new person ready to serve God in various ways.
A number of the members of our congregation have done jail or prison time, and these same folks are sincerely committed Christians who regularly exercise their gifts and talents to serve God’s purposes.
Mark 5:4 – for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces.
Acts 16:26 – and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened.
John 8:36 – So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Prison ministry has been a part of the church at large since the beginning. There are many stories in the Old and New Testaments that take place in the setting of a jail cell, or with a character experiencing a long term prison sentence.
God has been known to do a lot of incredible works in these settings, and we are blessed to have a front row seat for it today!
These are the programs we bring into the prisons and jails
